BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT

Shiva competed on the hit ITV competition along with the London School of Bollywood. The troupe received a standing ovation from the judges for their auditions and went on to compete in the semi-finals. Through their routines, the dancers wanted to challenge the heteronormative narratives that dominate the Bollywood industry by centering gender non-conformity at the forefront.

Shiva makes a brief appearance in the 20th season of BBC’s popular show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ during a Bollywood-inspired routine choreographed by Prabhleen Oberoi of Sapnay Dance.

FRANCE’S & INDIA’S GOT TALENT

Shiva competed on two other ‘Got Talent’ competitions: France’s and India’s, along with the London School of Bollywood.

The London School of Bollywood were invited to open the event with a classic Bollywood dance performance, and Shiva was offered to say a few words afterwards. They spoke about being non-binary in the entertainment industry and how Bollywood needs to step up when it comes to showcasing queer narratives in the mainstream.

Shiva’s ‘Chosen Family’ pictures, taken by photographer Alia Romagnoli as part of a LEVI’S campaign, were featured at Queer Britain - the U.K.’s first museum exclusively showcasing LGBTQ+ art and history.
